The Piasa.

A mighty monster from folklore... or a real dragon!?
Its name is Native American 'Indian', and signifies, in the Illini -
"The Bird That Devours Men."

Was this some kind of giant eagle or horned owl...? A surviving pterosaur...?
Or something entirely different...?

There are several depictions of the creature painted and carved into the sides of the cliffs and caves where it is said to have once lived... and preyed on men!
